New EUROPEAN Safety data sheet n°22 for the VeryOne® Cetane Improver

VERYONE has updated the Safety Data Sheet for 2-EthylHexyl Nitrate (VeryOne® Cetane Improver).

Here are the main changes:

• The Safety Data Sheet complies with the requirements of amendment no. 2020/878 to Annex II of REACH. This includes sections 2.3 and 12.6, which state that “no substance is identified as having endocrine disrupting properties”.

Following the Ecotoxicity studies carried out in 2021 and 2022 on this substance, we are incorporating changes to :

• assessment of Bioaccumulation Potential (section 12.3)
• the classification of the substance, with the addition of the hazard statement H400 (“Very toxic to aquatic organisms”) and the replacement of the statement “H411” (“Toxic to aquatic organisms, causing long-term adverse effects”) by H410 (“Very toxic to aquatic organisms, causing long-term adverse effects”). (see sections 2.1 + 2.2 + 3.1 + 12 + 16).

In addition, information has been updated, in particular :

• in section 7.2: the addition of glass to the list of materials suitable for storage
• in section 14.7: taking account of MARPOL classification.
